We have around 350 000 sign-ups for the game and 200 000 wishlists on Steam. The response has been good so far! The community seems to like it, youtubers seem to like it. What has the feedback been like from the gaming community?.After that we kept quiet of the game until just a week before release. Come February we also released an alpha for free, with the nature of the game being viral this quickly became of a huge hit on youtube and Twitch – the coverage was amazing! We also woke up on April 1st and thought of a fun spoof that turned out to become one of the top 5 April fools marketing ploys of that year. We focus a lot on new media and for a while you could daily find new gifs of what we were doing all over reddit and imgur. What have you done so far pre-launch to get the game out there?.

The three of us have been working full time on Clustertruck since October 2015 after its prototype had gathered a lot of attention in new media. Petter has a longer history in the industry and have been part of seven commercial projects. Philip and Wilhelm met in high school and are both prodigy geniuses that by the age of 20 had released two financially successful games, something unheard of. Landfall games consist of Philip, Wilhelm and Petter. You do little more than jumping on trucks, trying for the life of you to not fall off as they crash into shit and everything from lasers, hammers and even Satan tries to get you.

If you want more content, you can replay levels to aim to cut down your times (if you're the speedrunning sort, I imagine this game would be pretty fun for that) or download fanmade stuff from the workshop (though from the ones I played they don't really stray too much from the maingame levels.)Īlso, the soundtrack slaps - a lot of fast-paced rock and techno to get your blood pumping. From truck cannons to jumping off a cascade of midair trucks to fighting Truck Satan, there's a surprisingly large amount of variety and no gimmick ever felt it overstayed its gimmick. The game's content is a little slim - only 110 levels overall, which can easily be played through in a few hours or less if you're good - but what you get there is delightful. You have plenty of abilities to allow for silly things like yeeting a truck you're on at high speeds, but you can finish each of the levels in the game without them, and blitzing through hard levels by sheer precision platforming alone feels excellent.

Going fast feels great, and little tricks like jumping against the side or back of a truck to gain a huge horizontal/vertical speed boost feels sick to perform. Where Clustertruck really shines is how the platforming -feels. But saying that is like saying Mario is a game where you jump on goombas. It's a 3d platformer where you jump on trucks.
